Foottroller Hub: SteamVR, VDXR & custom game modes

Foottroller Hub is the PC app that turns Foottroller foot input into SteamVR and OpenXR (VDXR) locomotion, plus vJoy modes for racing, Skate, and flight sim. Download Foottroller Hub

SteamVR support

Hub’s first job is to read Foottroller input and send it to the Foottroller SteamVR drivers. That makes foot locomotion available in SteamVR so you can bind it to movement in SteamVR games. Instructions

VDXR support

From Hub v1.6, VDXR support is included. Hub sends Foottroller locomotion into a customized VDXR build so OpenXR games can move via Virtual Desktop. Binding happens inside that VDXR build, so you usually don’t need per-game bindings for VR titles.

SteamVR and VDXR feeds run in parallel, so you can use Foottroller locomotion in PCVR through SteamVR or OpenXR. Instructions

Advanced locomotion control (SteamVR and VDXR)

From Hub v1.8, advanced locomotion uses raw Foottroller data (not only the basic movement output) so you can tune control per PCVR game.

You can:

• Cap the maximum initial move speed when you start moving by tilting a foot.

• Scale speed with your step rate while walking or running in place.

Together, those settings help dial in a smoother feel for specific games.

Seated mode for locomotion (SteamVR and VDXR)

Hub v1.7 adds a seated locomotion mode for SteamVR and VDXR. You can move in VR with foot tilts while seated. This mode also builds controls from raw Foottroller data.

Instructions

Custom control with vJoy

Hub also works with vJoy for custom control schemes. It builds axes and buttons from Foottroller data and sends them through a vJoy feed as a virtual gamepad. That emulated pad can act like a normal controller in other games. Modes and mappings are set in the hub's vJoy panel.

Skate mode:

Hub uses raw Foottroller data to drive EA Sports Skate so you can skate with your feet. Demo

Differential pedal and brake mode:

In this mode, Foottroller acts as throttle and brake for racing games. Demo and instructions

Flight Sim mode:

From Hub v1.9, flight sim mode uses Foottroller plus a connected gamepad. The gamepad’s left stick (rim mode) drives throttle, elevator, and control wheel; Foottroller provides rudder and toe brakes.
