Foottroller racing pedals: analog throttle and brake

In pedal mode, Foottroller becomes analog accelerator and brake pedals. Throttle is left foot tilted up while the right foot presses down toward flat. Brake is right foot tilted up while the left foot presses down toward flat. Steer with a gamepad stick or a wheel. It is a compact pedal set for PC racing, not a load-cell cockpit.

How pedal mode works

Both feet work together. Raising the left foot and flattening the right adds throttle. Raising the right foot and flattening the left adds brake. How far you tilt and press sets how much throttle or brake you get.

Video guide

Turns Foottroller into analog accelerator and brake pedals. Foot tilt gives smooth, continuous throttle and braking in racing games. Pair it with a gamepad stick for steering and you have a compact driving setup.

Foottroller Pedals vs a full rig

A full racing rig uses a wheelbase and load-cell or hydraulic pedals with long travel and strong resistance. Foottroller is not that. Pedal mode turns coordinated foot tilt and press into analog throttle and brake: left foot up and right foot toward flat for throttle; right foot up and left foot toward flat for brake. That mapping is responsive and smooth for regular PC racing, without a pedal tray. It packs away with the rest of the kit, costs far less than a cockpit, and uses the same hardware as VR walking and flight rudder. You still need a gamepad or wheel to steer. If you want heel-toe feel, adjustable hardness, and sim-rig fidelity, buy a dedicated pedal set. If you want analog throttle and brake at a desk—or one device that also does VR locomotion—Foottroller is the compact option.

FAQ

Can Foottroller be used as racing pedals?
Yes. Pedal mode turns Foottroller into analog accelerator and brake. Throttle is left foot tilted up while the right foot presses toward flat. Brake is right foot tilted up while the left foot presses toward flat.

Does each foot map to one pedal?
No. Both feet work together. Raising one foot and flattening the other chooses throttle or brake. How far you tilt and press sets how much input you get.

Do I still need a wheel or gamepad?
Yes. Foottroller handles throttle and brake only. Steer with a gamepad stick or a wheel.

Do I need x360ce?
Use it when the game expects Xbox triggers for throttle and brake. Bind Foottroller’s pedal axes to those triggers. If the game can bind generic controller axes directly, you can skip the emulator.

Which games work?
PC racing titles that accept analog throttle and brake from a controller. Assetto Corsa is the example we show in the video. Other games that allow the same bindings can use the same method.

Is this like a load-cell pedal set?
No. You get analog, responsive throttle and brake from foot tilt, not long-travel load-cell pedals. It is a compact desk setup, not a full cockpit.

Can I use pedal mode seated?
Yes. Pedal mode is meant to be used seated.

Is this the same as flight-sim rudder mode?
No. Racing uses pedal mode for throttle and brake. Flight sims use Hub vJoy rudder-and-brakes mapping. See the flight simulator page for yaw and toe brakes.

How do I turn pedal mode on?
Use the control-box button combination shown in the setup video until the box is in pedal mode, then map the axes in the game or in x360ce.
