What Flat2VR means

Flat2VR converts traditional, "flat" 2D video games (played on standard monitors or TVs) into fully immersive Virtual Reality (VR) experiences.

Option 1 - Virtual Desktop + VDXR + Foottroller Hub (Recommended)

Flat2VR games are OpenXR games. Our Foottroller integration with VDXR allows Foottroller for locomotion control in all openXR games. No need for game specific control bindings!

VDXR through Virtual Desktop is also known for better performance than SteamVR.

Option 2 - SteamVR control binding

Generate a steamVR binding profile for the game, which is the same as regular steamVR games.

  • Set steamVR as the default openXR runtime

  • Disable steam input for the game

Extract the input folder and use it to replace the input folder in the Foottroller steamVR driver .../foottroller/resources/input
